We are thrilled to share that all members of the 2025 Teach-in-China Program have been honored with the Mayor’s Award for their outstanding volunteer service this summer!
The Mayor’s Award recognizes the hard work of students throughout the Greater Triangle of NC who have devoted significant time and energy to serving their community during the summer break. It highlights young volunteers who go above and beyond in giving back, demonstrating leadership, commitment, and positive impact through meaningful service.
Our 2025 team of 11 high school students exemplified these qualities in every way. Over two weeks in Zhuzhou, China, they served as cultural ambassadors by teaching English, sharing aspects of American life, and forming lasting friendships with students at Zhuzhou No. 2 High School. Their work not only strengthened international understanding, but also embodied the spirit of community service that the Mayor’s Award is meant to recognize.
We couldn’t be more proud of these young leaders! Their achievements reflect both personal dedication and the power of cross-cultural volunteerism. Congratulations again to all of our Mayor’s Award recipients — well deserved!
