Today (6/16/18) is the 4th day of teaching. The first day of teaching was a bit rough but the teams were able to improve their teaching plans and bring better results in following days. Some teaching problems we encountered include an unresponsive class and projector issues.
Every day, we would wake up to a very loud (and annoying) trumpet at around 6:20 am. We would get dressed and ready to go eat breakfast. After breakfast, we would go to the conference room and work on various items. Then, depending on the teaching schedule, we would go teach classes accordingly. We eat lunch at 12 pm and dinner at around 5:30 pm. The evening is used as our free time; we would usually use this time to socialize and exercise. We shower at 8 pm and sleep at 10 pm.
The Chinese students, especially the girls, were very curious about us. They asked for our WeChat, QQ IDs, and even our autographs. There were many “fangirls” who swooned over our boys.
On the other hand, there were a few problems. Some male Chinese students tried to break into our male team members’ dorm room. We have reason to believe that a few female Chinese students committed theft. We believe that they have stolen an expensive electric toothbrush and charger from our girls. This led to getting a lock on both the male and female dorms.
We will take a 5-day vacation on the 18th and will continue to work hard.
